We are definitely living in times filled with turmoil, and I think the old empire is trying desperately to hold on to its power, but can only do so by rearing up its real ugly head, for all to see. The old empire might just be ruled by those with the real power: the ones with the money: the corporate bankster elite.

Pepe Escobar, with his sharp analyses (1), reminds us of Slavoj Zizek's words that the marriage between capitalism and democracy seems to be over - the unelected corporate bankster hawks are rapidly gaining ground and are showing their faces to the world.
This small article wants to pay some attention to two of these Bankster-Loyalists (2), namely the Italian Marios.

Let's start with the top-bankster, former vice-president of the Goldman Sachs Empire and one of the architects of the euro: Mario Draghi (on the right in cartoon (4)). He has transformed himself into the master of the non-elected secretive organisation called European Central Bank (ECB, 5).

This ECB has the power to make money, to buy up all kinds of shaky debts from European countries, and when everything collapses, the europeans themselves can always bail them out. Of course they know how to treat themselves well.
Not only do we have a Mario as head of the ECB, but now another Mario showed up, also with ties to the Goldman-Sachs Regime. This time not as a vice-president, but as an international adviser (3). I am talking about mr. Mario Monti (in the middle of the cartoon), who 'ousted'  the Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi, is now the one probably protecting the Corporate Banksters by making the common Italians pay with strong austerity measures.

The guy in the left of the cartoon is new prime minister of Greece, mr Papadimos who quickly replaced the former prime minister, Papandreou, who actually wanted to hold on to democracy by holding a referendum on the austerity measures by the Bankster-Regime. Mr Papadimos was the former vice-president of the ECB. He was studied in the US (6) and, like Mario Monti he is part of the Trilateral Commission (a private organisation founded by behind-the-screen bankster priest David Rockefeller, 7).

(2) Words make all the difference in the world. In the Propaganda fight against the Libyan Jamahiriya all those who wanted to protect their country against the NATO-Rebel alliance were described as 'Gaddafi-Loyalists', in a way making it reasonable to kill off all the military men and women who resisted NATO's desire for regime-change (also see http://waterput.yolasite.com/english/is-the-west-making-libyans-into-gaddafi-loyalists-worth-fighting-as-an-army- )

(6) Apparently we not only see people who have lived in the US for decades showing up in NATO's Libya to rule the country (like Al-Keib, see - who is who in NATO's Libya (http://waterput.yolasite.com/english/who-is-who-in-nato-s-rebel-libya-), but they are appearing in governments in Europe as well now! - see Papadimos' wikipedia-page at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucas_Papademos.
