What did Israel strike in Syria on January 30, 2013: a Convoy or a Research Center?

On Wednesday, January 30, 2013, reports surfaced which seemed to suggest that Israel attacked Syria twice from the air. First it would have struck a convoy of weapons that was heading to Lebanon, supposedly to Hezbollah (1), and according to another source it would have hit a research center at Jamraya in Damascus countryside (2). 

What has happened here? Later it turned out that there was only one strike, but the sources differ on what was hit by the Israe...

No Legal Prosecutions against Opposition Members when they Participate in National Dialogue (and other news)

On January 28, 2013, Syria has sent two letters to the UN in which the plans are outlined that were presented by President Assad during his speech on January 6, which were ridiculed by many western media (1). 
One element is that all legal prosecutions against any opposition political figure is stopped when that particular person participates in the national dialogue which could bring about peace in Syria, as long as there are people willing to join the National Dialogue, and stop the killing...

Students in Syrian Al-Salamiyyeh are Rehabilitating their Schools (and other developments)

In the news bulletin from the Free Syrian Press on January 27, 2013 (1) we can hear about an initiative in the Syrian village of Al-Salamiyyeh, in the Hama countryside, where students and the Association of Youth have joined forces to rehabilitate their schools which were used by these western-backed terrorist killing squads.

Is there a Shift in the Position of the Enemies of Syria towards President Assad?


The international positions towards the crisis in Syria have been clear for quite some while now. There are basically two positions: one that calls for dialogue between the parties within Syria combined with a rejection of foreign interference. The other position is far more aggressive and calls for regime change in Syria with a rejection of dialogue and a strong support for the armed gangs or the 'opposition' against the Syrian government.

Amnesty International and Avaaz Support Escalation of Violence in Syria

Both Amnesty International (1) and Avaaz (2) are - probably unwittingly - supporting the escalation of violence in Syria. By starting petitions on internet they address their subscribers and promote the propaganda machine of the United States, Europe and the Gulf absolute Monarchies. Their message is that there is no need for dialogue. There is only one goal: regime change in Syria through violence.
